The outline of the character will remain more or less the same, I’m only making considerable changes for Act 3, where he will undergo a huge metamorphosis. I’ve always preferred Gabriel to remain focused on his goal, him being increasingly dumber and hell bent on world domination took away from his character. Have him become more reckless is fine, but the canon handled it very poorly. I think the ideal Gabriel lies somewhere between his movie and show iteration.
He starts off as classic Gabe as we know him, he wants to brute force his way into getting hold of the Ladybug and Black Cat, but it becomes very clear that doesn’t go anywhere fast. He gets pissy about it, takes it out on Adrien, telling him “no” all the time, who in turn gets pissy about that. This incentivizes Nathalie to take matters into her own hands.
Colt’s ghost comes back to haunt him in the form of Félix, but it doesn’t take long for Gabriel to figure out what he’s up to, it seems Colt was unable to keep his mouth shut. In their confrontation, Félix discovers his identity, but it matters not; Gabriel has his life in the palm of his hand.
Just as Gabriel starts to realize he needs to change tactics, and perhaps start targeting the Guardian instead LB/CN directly, an opportunity presents itself in an unexpected fashion: Chloé Bourgeois reveals herself to be the Holder of the Bee. He hatches a plan, using her, to discover the location of the Guardian.
The museum unveils a new piece, a fossilized statuette bearing the mark of the grimoire, Gabriel and Nathalie want to investigate. Mayura infiltrates the museum during nighttime and confirms that the statuette is an ancient Sentimonster.
Gabriel is in cahoots with Chloé, and they coordinate to deploy Feast at the time she visits Master Fu for counsel, Chloé implores Fu to lend her the Bee so she can assist with this threat. Fu recognizes the threat as his own created Sentimonster, a long time ago, and decides to deal with it himself. Considering there is no Akumatized villain on the loose, he considers the possibility of a two-pronged attack, he lends the Bee to Chloé in order to “hold the fort”, just in case. Chloé hesitates to break her deal with Gabriel, but decides to follow through and steals the Box (and Grimoire).
Hawk Moth and Fu finally meet, the former thinking he has won having to contend with a feeble old man, but he has made a grave miscalculation: Fu mocks him, explaining that the Butterfly is ill-suited for man-to-man combat, adding to the fact that Gabriel has no combat proficiency. Sure enough: Fu transforms using the Turtle and whoops his ass pretty effortlessly. Meanwhile, Feast is rampaging at the Eiffel Tower, closely monitored by Mayura, Gabriel flees the the scene.
